The Forum Cafe is a small, Greco-Roman themed cafe, by the British Museum. It is quite a handsome cafe. The counter is on the right as you come in. There are a few small tables alongside the wall, opposite the counter. Beyond there the is a larger dining room. I used to come during my first year when I had slept through breakfast, when I would come for salmon and scrabbled eggs and sit on one of the small tables by the counter.

The eggs were good and cost £6, which I thought was expensive at the time. The service was brisk but not particularly amiable (although they
did seem to be nicer to other people which I found a little perturbing). Still, it is a pleasant environment and the tables are a good size for food and a newspaper. The Forum Cafe is decent place for a snack if you are visiting the museum

I am a local resident and live just next door, I have had the displeasure of visiting this Cafe twice in four years. The staff are rude, but also aggressive and unfriendly. The prices are steep, with lack of quality and service. The Cafe is dark and gloomy . I would rather frequent the chain establishments as I know what I am getting and am not treated with disdain.
My mother recently went in here and came out crying, she is elderly and said that the man was rude and made her feel " less than" This is an example of a poorly run independent Cafe and is why the likes of Starbucks, Costa and Nero have done so well. We no longer want bad food, bad environments and bad service. I am a paying customer and a local resident and am very disappointed with this Cafe, that makes its crust by ripping off tourists to the British Museum.

Worst cafe experience on every level. It gets one star for the prime location, which is just about the only thing it has going for it. Me and a friend came in for lunch and took a while to get a seat at a dirty table. I ordered a chicken salad and a water and they brought out a chicken salad sandwich and bottled water. The sandwich on old white bread was tiny and bland and when they brought out just tap water (instead of the bottle) it had no ice! Then when we came to the counter to pay the guy could not understand the concept of separate checks and had a major attitude when we tried to make sure we got the correct change back, which we did not.

Close within walking distance to the British Museum makes the Forum Cafe bar a prime location. This is a quaint little Roman themed cafe with painted features and pillar structures throughout. The decor is enjoyable and I spent many a day here dreaming of becoming an Egyptologist when I was a young girl. It's also close to some of the antiquities shops/dealers. I really hold the forum cafe dear in my heart and would encourage anyone to come here before or after visiting the British Museum for a snack.
